Review: Morning Star

A four-star book with a two-star ending. I still really like the world, and most of the characters, but the finale was so weird and contrived that it half-ruined the book for me. There is literally no way that Our Heroes could expect their final master plan to work apart from "we've got the author on our side". For heroes that have been portrayed as predominantly smart, rather than brute force actors, it just makes no sense at all for them to even try it. Also, entirely out-of-character for at least half of them.
