Review: Spook Country

Spook Country
Spook Country by William Gibson

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Gibson has a talent for atmosphere that I'd sort of forgotten. This book barely has a plot; you could describe it completely in maybe 3 sentences. It has 3 main point-of-view characters, two of whom don't actually _do_ anything for the entire book, and the third is passive most of the time. You aren't participating in a story here, you're just looking out the window of a train and seeing a little flicker of one flash by. But I liked the book all the same. It has excellent interesting characters, a wonderful eye for incongruous detail, and an eerie pervasive "feel" (for lack of a better term) that made it compelling.
